I really liked this place! Good coffee, cute treats, and it's very spacious.
For drinks I tried their latte with condensed milk. My friend ordered the frozen chocolate. I think both of us were pretty content.
We went around 1100 so it was rather quiet aside from students or young teens, but that definitely changed at around 1300 when we were leaving. I was surprised at how noisy and busy it got.
I'd definitely go back and maybe order one of their sweets with my coffee. -

Cute place and lots of interesting things of the menu. I tried the earl grey creme brûlée and the waffle. The earl grey creme brûlée was tasty but the top sugar part hardened weirdly that it didn't crack when I tapped it. I've never had earl grey creme brûlée and it exceeded my expectations.
The waffle was good but not that great. I got a drizzle of condensed milk on it. It was good but just as good as the waffles I keep frozen at home. However I am a waffle snob and my expectations are high.
I didn't find anything special with their drinks. Overall cute cafe and interesting items on the menu. Can be pricey though. -

Coffee Monster is Guildford's ideal cafe. Their highest pro seems to be the clean and civilized cafe environment Coffee Monster provides. It's presence of not too loud music and never too crammed clientele makes Coffee Monster the perfect place to enjoy a drink and/or treat while studying, reading, conversing, or relaxing. I ordered their Bonfire Hot Chocolate for a 2 hour long reading session followed by their Matcha Latte. Both drinks were prepared under a minute with barista conversations kept short and sweet thanks to their pager method in delivery. Despite their drinks not being mind blowing, they failed to disappoint as they were as sweet, creamy, and satisfying as expected.
P.S. I also respect how Coffee Monster's one use utensils and containers are compostable. -

Got the caramel mocha ($5) and it was good. It had a more subtle caramel flavour than what I was hoping for. Also got 2 macaroons at $2.50 each (espresso and salted caramel). They too were a bit subtle in their flavours.
The service was friendly, our order (including my friends caramel mocha and red velvet cake took about 5-10 minutes, despite there only being one person ahead of us in line. For some reason it was kinda loud even though it wasn't music; people were just loud. I noticed that none of the staff go around cleaning any of the tables; I don't mind bussing my own dishes, but even the staff at Tim Hortons go around wiping down the tables every now and then. -

Had no idea where to find a decent cup of coffee before my drive home to Seattle & Coffee Monster did not disappoint! They do everything right - top of the line equipment, highest quality syrups, excellent service, & modern simple atmosphere. Definitely get your coffee fix here instead of Tim Horton's.
